Culture Change for Maintenance and Reliability Improvement

Culture Change for Maintenance and Reliability Improvement
Aston Hotel, Bandung | August 18-20, 2009 | Rp. 5.450.000,-

COURSE INTRODUCTION

Reliability improvement is the focus in industry today. This is to insure the available of the products/ services which comply the demands. Many programs are designed to improve maintenance and reliability, but, the achieved results are rarely sustaining. This indicates that change is a difficult process and without proper attention to organizational culture, long-term successful change is not possible.

This course defines the culture, especially the organizational cultures. It elaborates the elements of culture, i.e. values, role models, rites and rituals, and cultural infrastructure. Then the discussion on the elements of change are following, i.e. leadership, work process, structure, group learning, technology, communication, interrelationships, and rewards. These two types of elements form a matrix which is the basis of the web of cultural change.

A tool has been developed for assessing the organizational culture with the objective to identify the root causes of the un-sustainability of the maintenance and reliability improvements. Recommendations for correction action can be derived from the results of the assessment.

Geo–Statistical Resource: Modeling and Estimation

Geo–Statistical Resource: Modeling and Estimation

Jayakarta Hotel, Bandung | August 3-7, 2009 | 8.450.000,-

INTRODUCTION

Multivariate geo-statistics involves more than one variable. It can improve the estimation of a variable from other variables sampled either at same points (isotopic case) or not always at the same points (heterotypic case). In many cases when drilling a layering deposit, not all drill holes obtained both top and bottom of the deposit. In this case, estimates on top or bottom elevation can be solved by multivariate or vicariate geo-statistics. Simple co-kriging or ordinary co-kriging is very often used to estimate top or bottom elevation of a layering deposit, when they are unknown in a drill hole. Simple cokriging is used if the variables are stationary and their mean are known well, otherwise we should use ordinary cokriging. Top elevation can be estimated using variable of bottom elevation or on the contrary. In case the cross-variogram of top and bottom elevation is identical or proportional with their simple variogram in isotopic case, the cross variogram is a model of intrinsic correlation, so their cokriging coincides with their own kriging. In other word, top and bottom elevation are self-krigeable. In general, the using of cokriging can improve the consistency between estimation of different variables.

    HSE Half Day Seminar: Office Ergonomics

    HSE Half Day Seminar: Office Ergonomics

    Jakarta |  September 3, 2009 | Rp. 800.000,-

    OVERVIEW

    There are two kinds of hazards in the office; they are Ergonomics hazard and Safety hazard. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) are the most commonly occurring hazards in modern offices. These injuries result from poorly designed workstations, and inadequate job design.

    Ergonomics deals with the compatibility between workers and their work. Poor ergonomic conditions exist when the "work" is incompatible with the workers' bodies and their ability to continue working. Such conditions may cause discomfort, fatigue and pain and, subsequently, injury. When the work area is too cold or too hot, poorly lit, noisy, poorly ventilated, or contains unpleasant odours it results in annoyance, stress, fatigue, eye strain, headache and other conditions. Injuries and illnesses related to poor ergonomic conditions can be prevented by making the workplace and the work organization fit the physical and mental ability of each individual worker.

    OBJECTIVES

    The specific objectives of this course were to enable you to:

    • Develop an understanding of the basic elements of office ergonomics;

    • Identify tasks that can potentially cause work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) and other injuries to the muscles and joints;

    • Develop an ergonomics program and set goals for your workplace; and

    • Focus on problem solving through employee and management involvement.

    COURSE PROGRAM

    1.  Ergonomics Hazards in the Office Workplace

    These topics will give the answer of the following question: What is Ergonomics? What are WMSD? Why Is There So Much Commotion about Ergonomics? What are the Common Symptoms of WMSD? How does Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD) Occur? How do WMSD Affect our Body? What to Do if You Notice Symptoms of WMSD? How is WMSD Treated?

    2.  Office Ergonomics Program

    An office ergonomics program is a systematic approach and a management system to reduce risk from ergonomic hazards. An office ergonomics program includes the certain basic components. The recognition of ergonomic hazards is important to their prevention. This involves identifying conditions and practices where improvements need to be made.

    3.  Ergonomics Regulations, Standards, Guidelines and Legislation
