  • The characteristics of arc and spark in switchgear caused by over current and ground fault of power systems

  • Type of electric and mechanics force in switchgear and its characteristics

  • Basic calculation of current fault in electrical power systems, phase to ground fault, phase to phase fault for estimating the dissipation energy and to choice the type of arc and spark extinguisher

  • Type of arc and spark extinguisher: air break, air blast, oil , vacuum , SF 6

  • Installation and connection of switchgear on the electrical power systems

  • Testing and maintenance of the switchgear

Course Objectives



Logs are the most universal technical documents on oil and gas wells. They impact the work of almost every oilfield group from geologist to drillers to banker. Familiarity with the purpose and applications of well logs is therefore essential. General principles of physics are used to explain the functions of modern logging tools and the potential impact of drilling conditions on the interpretation. Wherever possible, the physics of logging measurements is related to everyday tools and appliances. Participants develop an appreciation for the constraints and limitations of the borehole environments. Actual log example are related to basic principles in the description of reservoir properties, cross plotting and reconnaissance techniques the eyes of the part time log interpreter, discriminate between water, oil and gas, quickly and efficiently. Error minimization techniques and why they produce optimal results are demystified.

DR. Ir. I Wayan Suweca has been a senior consulting engineer specialist for PT. TIMAH Tbk., PT. TAMBANG BATUBARA Bukit Asam, KONDUR Petroleum S.A., and PT. KAI whereas he's involved in failure analysis of machineries and equipments' design. Mr. Wayan also is a distinguished professor of mechanical engineering at ITB since 1987 and has conducted numerous short courses and seminars for various major oil companies such as PT. CALTEX Pacific Indonesia, PT. FREEPORT Indonesia as well as VICO.



His field of expertise includes mechanical design and drawing, stress analysis and computer aide MSC/Nastran finite element program, mining hydraulics, and vibrations control as well as maintenance management. Mr. Wayan received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, French in 1990.
